As soon as I heard that Avenue One was going to host a preview of new brunch menu items for Boston Brunchers, including some dishes like Lobster Eggs Benedict, I knew I would have to clear my Sunday morning and sign up. Plus, for the first time, they were going to put the brunch spread outside on The Terrace for us too!

Last Sunday, I attended the most recent gathering of Boston Brunchers at Avenue One in the Hyatt in downtown Boston. I was there to rep for Eversave (with Colleen) as well as The EE. The generous folks at Avenue One were happy to accommodate our large group of about 30 bloggers, and even opened their terrace specifically for us, as not to disrupt the normal Sunday brunch crowd inside.

On Sunday I attended the latest Boston Brunchers event which took place at The Terrace at Avenue One, a lesser known outdoor space housed within the confines of The Hyatt Regency Hotel. This luxury hotel is centrally located at One Avenue de Lafayette where Downtown Crossing meets the Theater District. Despite the Hyatts prime location, I never really knew of its existence and definitely had no idea what they offered in terms of dining.

Not many people associate locally sourced ingredients and deliciously innovative foods with hotel chains. Although this conception may be true for certain hotels, The Hyatt Regency and its restaurant Avenue One, is a case quite apart. After an incredible brunch with fellow bloggers on The Terrace of the Hyatt Regency in the Theatre District, I can attest that executive chef, Kelly Armetta, knows a thing or fifty about MA’s culinary highlights and especially on how to incorporate them into treats to fit any palette.
On Sunday I had the pleasure of attending a Boston Brunchers brunch out on The Terrace at Avenue One, a restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Boston. I had not been able to make it to a Boston Brunchers event in months and was happy to reconnect with old friends as well as meet a bunch of people I have gotten to know through our blogs and Twitter — all the while enjoying some fabulous food and long overdue sunshine.

Prior to the email regarding Sunday’s Boston Brunchers event, I had never heard of Avenue One at the Hyatt Regency Boston. I honestly didn’t know there was a hotel in its space, so I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived for brunch on Sunday and were taken to this beautiful terrace.

It has been a long time since I’ve been in the Hyatt Regency Boston. I think the last time I was there was for one of my law school formals and sadly, I’ve been out of law school for five years now! So when Renee emailed out an invitation to
this month’s Boston Brunchers‘ brunch at the Terrace at Avenue One, I was definitely excited for a return visit.

Nestled right in the heart of downtown Boston, just steps from Downtown
Crossing and the Common is the Hyatt Regency. Sure I’ve seen it before in passing (it’s right near the Opera House which I frequent every Nutcracker Season!), but I just have never thought to visit their restaurant!
Luckily for me, Boston Bruncher’s June Brunch was a $25 ticket to a lovely brunch buffet on the Terrace at Avenue One! I made sure to sign up right away as I did not want to miss this.

I love happening upon a new spot in the city to enjoy a cup of tea, a chat with friends and a plate full of treats. I also love being surprised. When I think of a Hyatt, I think of that time I had to go to Texas for 24 hours for business. It’s nearly impossible to enjoy room service when the view from that room is a strip club, the freeway, and some sort of tire mega-super-store. Come to think of it, I may have stayed in a Marriott. Either way, the food was essentially poisonous, resulting in a 3lb. weight loss and a strong desire to fly home to Boston and never, ever leave. It turns out, though, all hotel food need not be judged so harshly. The ever-animated and knowledgeable Chef Kelly Armetta at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Crossing may have changed my impression of hotel breakfasts forever.

Avenue One in the Hyatt Regency in Boston invited the Boston Brunchers to enjoy a brunch buffet featuring a sneak preview of their new menu items outdoors on the terrace. For $25, we received unlimited trips to the buffet, coffee, juice, smoothie shooters, and breakfast cocktails.

I was thrilled when Eversave contacted me for a possible sponsorship of an up-coming brunch event! I was even more thrilled to hear that the brunch would take place at Avenue One in Boston’s Hyatt Regency Hotel! But wait, it gets even better….for the first time during a brunch, Avenue 1 will be opening up their Terrace for us to brunch al fresco!
