What do you get when you have 24 Boston food bloggers get together for brunch? An awesome prix fixe menu courtesy of East Coast Grill, and a lot of “so nice to finally meet you!” and “it’s great to put a face to a blog” and “I’m a lurker on your blog. I stalk your posts religiously.” Okay, so maybe the last sentence mostly came from me, but nevertheless everyone seemed to enjoy the second Boston Brunchers event.

East Coast Grill served several family-style appetizers, and we had three choices for the entree. I’ve been to ECG multiple times for dinner, but it was my first time there for brunch. I was glad to find out that their brunch options still feature the same bold flavors.  The restaurant was also as packed as it usually is for dinner (there was a line even before it opened at 11 am) and there was a lot of good energy around.

One of things I have come to appreciate the most in my move to Boston (besides my spacious apartment with real closet) is the close-knit food blogger community. Although I have come to know many through twitter, it’s  even more lovely when we can all get together in person and share a meal (plus it’s great to eat with folks that love food as much as myself)!

When the Boston Brunchers (club? twitterfeed?) organized a brunch at East Coast Grill this past Sunday, I was naturally all hands on deck. Everyone else must have had the same thought as there were 24 of us in total – and we literally took up half of the restaurant! As I said hello to many old faces, I also was excited to meet many a new ones.

The second Boston Brunchers outing (and the first one I attended) was at the East Coast Grill in Inman Square.  Known primarily for their seafood, ECG also excels at brunch, providing lots of Southern-inspired options (ie lots of bacon and plenty of spice).

Yesterday, I joined 24 fabulous Boston Bloggers for a brunch at one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants – the East Coast Grill. A few months ago, I attended a lovely brunch at Lord Hobo organized by fellow food blogger Renee of Eat.Live.Blog.  Our brunch consisted of a small group of food bloggers who were there just to enjoy one of our favorite weekend meals while getting to know each other a little better.  After this first blogger brunch, Renee got an overwhelming response from other food bloggers asking to be on the list for the next blogger brunch.  With Renee’s super event organization skills, the second blogger brunch took place this morning at East Coast Grill. East Coast Grill gives a whole new meaning to Sunday brunch. I am quite confident the 24 Boston Bloggers who joined me in the private bamboo walled back room lined with a bright teal booth and huge tiki masks would agree. East Coast Grill’s staff and kitchen stuffed us, spoiled us, and brought the spice with four incredibly unique appetizers and one intense entree of our choice all at a fixed price of $25 including tax and tip. Over 20 of us gathered in Inman Square on a mild, sunny Sunday morning. The host led us to a semi-private room behind the bar where we sat at what eventually became one very long table. We were greeted by Arthur, East Coast Grill’s brunch captain, who explained to us how our brunch would flow. First, we would enjoy a selection of four appetizers, served family style.
