Boston Brunchers at Harvard Common Press – Sweetly Serendipity

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending another Boston Brunchers event, but this one was totally unlike any before. A whopping 40 bloggers were hosted by the Harvard Common Press (HCP) right in their offices in the South End, free to roam around and explore before we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. It was great to get to mingle with and meet some new bloggers before the more formal portion of brunch, and then to learn about the company, and specifically what business bloggers have with a cookbook publishing company.

Happiness is a Room Full of Cookbooks – Eating In or Out

It’s true that this blog is relatively young, but sometimes I feel a little disconnected from the Boston food blogging community for a very good reason: I don’t actually livein Boston. I commute to Boston for work. I went to school in Boston. My friends are in Boston. I’m a walking catalogue of where to eat in Boston. I feel like Boston is my true home, and sometimes I have to remind myself that I can’t just hop the T to get to my house at night or that I can’t just go out to dinner with a friend without advance planning.

That’s why I was thrilled when I snagged a spot to my first Boston Brunchers event this past Sunday.

HCPbrunch and Recipe Review – Wicked Random

Last Sunday I had the privilege of joining a group of Boston Brunchers in the area for brunch at Harvard Common Press (twitter tag #HCPbrunch). During the meal we learned a lot about the cookbook publishing industry and the work that goes into publishing a cook book. We did this all while making new friends, meeting up with twitter buddies, and eating a great meal put together from the Harvard Common Press crew.

Boston Food Bloggers Raid Harvard Common Press – Wicked Good Travel

A couple of Sunday’s ago I had the immense pleasure of joining 40 other food bloggers as Harvard Common Press opened their doors to us and welcomed us in with open arms. It was such a fun time. They made two cocktail punches along with a wonderful spread of brunch foods, all of which came from their own cookbooks.

When blogging and publishing collide – frugal foodista

As some of you may know, Boston Brunchers is a group of avid bloggers who get together about once a month to try out different brunching hot spots.  I have been lucky enough to attend quite a few of these brunches and over the past year, it has grown both in number and in reach.  From more traditional brunches like last weekend’s excursion to Temple Bar to bottomless brunches like the one we enjoyed at Local 149, the Brunchers have expanded going to see the Boston Ballet, hopping aboard the Odyssey and just last Sunday, a group of us were invited into the headquarters of the Harvard Common Press - a leading publisher of Cookbooks across America.

Cooking Whims: Brunching at the Harvard Common Press

Last Sunday, the Harvard Common Press (HCP) invited 40 Boston Brunchers to brunch at their office. This event sign up was first come, first serve. So when I saw Renee tweet about this, I immediately grabbed a spot.

What food blogger doesn’t want to go chat with some cookbook publishers? (especially the brunching kind…do I smell a Boston Brunchers cookbook in the future…?…?)

Our First Boston Brunchers Event – Good Girl Gone Blog

On Sunday, Eric and I attended our first Boston Brunchers event, which was hosted by Harvard Common Press in their spectacular 5th floor office in the South End. When we first walked into the building, I was amazed by the ancient elevator and the fact that I had no idea anything worth visiting actually existed in this part of my neighborhood.

Harvard Common Press and Boston Brunchers – Baking Me Hungry

I particularly enjoyed seeing the vast titles of cookbooks published by HCP including Not Your Mother’s Slow Cooker and Salty Sweets. Each blogger received a gift of a cookbook including A Baker’s Field Series (Marie of @ChocoAndWine), Bonne Femme Cookbook (Renee of Eat Live Blog), Ginger Bliss and the Violet Fizz (Richard of Passionate Foodie) and Gourmet Gifts (Jessica, a gastronomy graduate student at BU).

Brunch at Harvard Common Press – What Emily Cooks

Harvard Common Press was the site of Sunday’s Boston Brunchers event. Located in the South End on the top floor of an old piano factory, HCP graciously opened its offices to about 40 Boston food enthusiasts.

The Boston Brunchers Came to HCP… – Harvard Common Press

Sunday, 40 of Boston’s most active food bloggers attended a brunch at our office for a morning filled with good food, good conversation, and great company. We had a fantastic time meeting everyone (especially matching faces to blog names and Twitter handles!) and discussing the relationship between bloggers and publishers. Adam gave a talk on the process of turning a food blog into a cookbook, while Nancy discussed what goes into marketing a cookbook in the digital age.
